The Regional Cancer Prevention and Screening Coordinating Committee serves as a forum to lead the regional implementation of the Cancer 2020 goals and targets. Regional Cancer Prevention and Screening Leads have been identified across the province, acting as knowledge brokers between the Regional Cancer Programs, the regional cancer prevention and screening networks, and the Department of Prevention and Screening at Cancer Care Ontario.
The Committee provides timely and expert strategic and operational advice to the Department of Prevention and Screening on matters relating to the development, implementation, management and sustainability of a cancer prevention and detection strategy/system in Ontario. The Prevention Unit within the Department of Prevention and Screening at Cancer Care Ontario provides secretariat support to the Committee.
