The Ontario Cancer Information Management Network is the province-wide, official network dedicated to information management in the cancer system. Membership in the Network is made up of representatives from each Regional Cancer Program (RCP), the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Cancer Care Ontario. The Network is accountable for sharing and exchanging information among these partners, providing input and advice in areas of information management (both projects and operations), and ensuring active communication between Cancer Care Ontario and the RCPs.

Network Member Responsibilities

Network members are responsible for representing their regions/organizations.

RCP members are responsible for the following:

  • Representing the opinions and positions of their entire RCP
  • Obtaining, when required, input and direction from the Regional Vice President and members of other organizations within their RCP and bringing this information back to the Network
  • Connecting and collaborating with other forums and organizations within their RCP to act as Information Management (IM) leads and to bring forward an IM perspective in these forums
  • Disseminating communications beyond the Network to others within their region who may be influenced/interested in IM and the activities of the Network
  • Supporting the identification of project-specific resources from each RCP when required to meet project based needs (such as IM task groups/sub-committees)

CCO network members are responsible for the following:

  • Communicating key information relative to IM through the Network in a timely fashion
  • Building awareness with internal stakeholders of the presence and role of the Network
  • Bringing forward input and recommendations from the Network to internal decision-making forums and bodies at CCO
