The OBSP assists primary care providers to:

  • invite eligible patients to undergo mammography
  • book mammography
  • arrange follow-up
  • inform patients of screening results
  • automatic recall of patients
  • statistical reporting of patients referred

Office resources

The OBSP provides various resources:

  • Posters, brochures and fact sheets with information on breast cancer screening. Some resources are available in up to 19 languages.
  • Requisition pads for patients.
  • OBSP staff may be able to arrange presentations and/or displays.
  • Clinical practice guidelines for the care and treatment of breast cancer. This includes what to do when an abnormality is found at screening.
  • Contact the nearest OBSP regional centre to order materials with local contact information.
