Front-line Cancer Care Professionals Recognized for Exceptional Patient Care
Every day across the province, individuals and teams are going above and beyond to advance cancer prevention, treatment and care. Thousands of cancer patients depend on their health care professionals to help guide and support them through a difficult time in their lives.

Cancer Care Ontario’s Human Touch Awards were established this year to recognize and honour health care professionals who demonstrate exceptional and compassionate care for cancer patients.

The award submissions received illustrate the commitment of health care providers across the province to patients and their families, and truly reflect the spirit of this award.

Congratulations to the following Human Touch Award recipients for their exceptional patient care:

  • Donna Danelon, Registered Dietitian, Windsor Regional Cancer Centre
  • Breast Disease Site Team, Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton Health Sciences
  • Dr. Karen Mazurski, Regional Oncology Physician, Dryden Regional Health Centre
  • 3Z Blood Disorders Unit, McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton Health Sciences
  • Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Oncology / Palliative Care Team
  • Rosanne Peever-Trottier, Director of Nursing, Anson General Hospital
  • Dr. Dori Seccareccia, Palliative Care Physician, Princess Margaret Hospital
  • Chemotherapy Clinic Team, Centenary Site, Rouge Valley Health System

The awards were presented at Cancer Care Ontario's Annual General Meeting in Toronto on April 26.
