The patient-friendly versions of the pathways are developed for patients and their families, to help them navigate the cancer system.
While every effort should be made to deliver care in concordance with these pathways, it is important to note that the circumstances of individuals may vary. Each person’s journey may or may not follow all of the steps outlined in the patient-friendly versions of the pathways. It should be understood that factors including comorbidities, contraindications and patient choice may result in deviation from the pathways.
Lung Cancer Diagnosis
The Patient-Friendly Version of the Lung Cancer Diagnosis Pathway is the first patient-friendly version produced by Cancer Care Ontario. It provides an overview of the typical clinical assessment of a person to confirm or rule out a diagnosis of lung cancer.
